Nigeria’s premier hair institute, Nature’s Gentle Touch Hair Institute celebrated its hairstylists during the National Hairstylists Appreciation Day marked recently.
The annual event celebrates the important role of hair and hairstylists and this event took place on the 30th of April 2017 at the Nature’s Gentle Touch Institute premises on Victoria Island, Lagos.
The first of its kind in the history of the Nigerian beauty industry, the institute held a one-week long event to appreciate its hairstylists as well as current students of the institute including hairstylists who have already graduated.
Natures Gentle Touch Hair Institute prides itself in an inductive knowledge-sharing approach in hair care and hairstyling while rendering top-notch hair services to its customers.
In a statement, one of the awardees, Babatunde Adekoya, who emerged the Most Professional Hair Technician, said: “I feel motivated because my hard work has been rewarded with the award of the most professional hair technician and I will only get better by aiming for excellence all the time.”
He added: “Passing through Natures Gentle Touch hair institute gave me confidence, and the courage to carry myself artfully behind the chair. Being a hairstylist is about connecting with people on a physical and emotional level. It’s using art and talent to create a look that not only looks good on the outside, but makes the client feel the same way on the inside.”
Also speaking, Odebode Oluwasegun, who clinched the award of the Most Dedicated Hair Technician, said: “I have been with Natures Gentle Touch Hair Institute since November 2011.
Undergoing training at the Institute was a great privilege for me as I have acquired technical and professional skills to effectively and diligently serve my clients.
“I have also mastered the tactics involved in encouraging people (especially Nigerians) to groom and maintain healthy hair. I thank the company for organizing the National hairstylist appreciation day, this is an encouragement to hairstylists as the event made us know that we are valued and held in high esteem by the management.”

The event was graced by some of the members of management of the brand and other members of staff with all the institute’s hairstylists, enrolled students and graduated students.
